Practical notes for choosing resize, crop, format, and file-size settings before exporting production images.
Fit vs fill vs pad
Fit keeps the full image visible inside a target box. Fill creates exact dimensions by cropping overflow. Pad keeps the image visible and adds a background around it. Use fill for consistent galleries and pad when cropping would remove important content.
JPEG vs PNG vs WebP
JPEG is strong for photos and small upload limits, but it cannot preserve transparency. PNG preserves sharp edges and transparency but can remain large after resizing. WebP is usually a good web default when the destination accepts it.
Reduce image size without guessing
Start with the required destination dimensions, then choose a format, then apply a maximum byte limit. ResizeSetGo checks the actual file size of what you'll download, so success is based on the file you receive.
